Join Erika King for Introduction to Ayurvedic Medicine + Nutrition, an introduction to Ayurveda, yoga's 5,000 year old sister science of natural healing, and its individualized approach to food, health, and everyday well being.
Ayurveda offers practical ways to live in greater harmony with nature through food, daily routines, seasonal eating, herbs, and lifestyle. At the heart of Ayurveda is the understanding that each person has their own unique constitution and current state of balance, meaning there isn't one way of eating or living that works for everyone.
Erika will introduce you to the foundations of Ayurveda and how Ayurvedic nutrition looks at your individual body type and present imbalances. You'll explore the idea of food as medicine, why the same foods can support one person while creating imbalance for another, and how simple food and lifestyle choices can support digestion, energy, and long term well being.
You'll also experience a guided food meditation while enjoying a light meal of kitchari, a traditional Ayurvedic dish, giving you an opportunity to experience some of what you've learned in class.
Leave with a better understanding of Ayurveda, your own individual needs, and simple ways to begin bringing Ayurvedic principles into your everyday life.
Erika brings over twenty years of experience in holistic health to her work as an Ayurvedic Practitioner, Energy Healer, QHHT Practitioner, Yoga Teacher, and Cacao Facilitator. With warmth, presence, and a deep understanding of holistic wellness, she creates a supportive space for healing, growth, and greater connection with yourself.
*No prior experience with Ayurveda is needed. This class is designed as an introduction and a place to begin.
