Blue Tansy is a member of the chamomile family that grows wildly in the Mediterranean Basin and is now mainly cultivated in Morocco. Blue tansy is also known as Moroccan blue chamomile or by its botanical name Tanacetum annuum.
Blue Tansy is native to European and Asian regions with a temperate climate. In ancient times, the Greeks, Egyptians and other cultures in the Mediterranean may have used blue tansy in perfumes and in natural remedy. Historically, this plant has been used to treat sores, fevers, rheumatism, intestinal worms, and other digestive problems. In Chinese medicine, blue tansy was believe to act as an antihistamine in reducing nasal congestion.
